Waving towers is a site specific installation that takes part in the beach of the Macakizi Hotel within rocks, grass and the water that waves through. A set of towers with different heights and shapes, woven by local rattan specialized artisans, grow and inhabit within the landscape’s nature.
The name ‘Waving’ is in reference to the way in which the tower's curvy and continuous shape is in direct dialogue with its environment, the water, rocks, soil and vegetation around it. Vertical waves that elevate towards the sky make a project that communicates, moves and invites us to walk through it, but above all, it invites us to reflect on local culture and artisan knowhow.
