FLOATING TOWERS / installation

Artwork piece developed for Entrevero, an independent project about materiality, history, technique and tradition from Argentina. It is a vertical composition of three columns built by hand-woven volumes under the traditional basketry technique of northern Argentina called simbol. Simbol is a plant fiber which grows in the Argentine province of Catamarca, usually along the river banks in the Calchaquies Valleys area, the Quilmes ruins and Tolomoye —in the Northwest of the country. It grows all year long, but it is mainly in autumn and winter when the best quality simbol can be found.
